Kenyan driver Marvir Baryan navigated by Scottish Drew Sturrock in their Skoda Fabia Car, has listed for the two-day Oryx Energies, the sixth Africa Rally Championship series slated on August 31 in Tanzania.
According to the list released by the organizer on Saturday, over 21 drivers have so far registered from Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, South Africa, United Kingdom and host Tanzania.
Some of the other drivers who have registered for the race include; Zambia’s duo brothers Lerory and Kleevan Gomes, Jasy Singh, Uganda’s Adam Abdul Rauf, Yassin Nassar , Dharan Pandya, Randee Singh and Kenya’s Piero Cannobio.
Marvir who is the defending champions currently leads the Africa Rally Series with 75 points with two series left on the calendar in Tanzania and Rwanda.
Uganda’s Jas Mangat is second with 33 points while Kenyan Piero Cannobio/Silvia Frigo have 29 points in third place.
A win in Tanzania at the end of this month will mean, Marvir retains the Africa Rally Championship for a second time in a role, even with one race still remaining the Mountain Gorilla Rally to be staged in Rwanda this October.
