The 2018 Shared Accord comprising the Command Post Exercise (CPX) and a Medical Readiness Exercise (MEDRETE) will be hosted by Rwanda.
The exercise will take place from August 14 to 29 in at the Rwanda Military Academy – Gako, coinciding the Rwanda Defense Forces (RDF) , with the United States Military, the European Union and others from the East African nations supported by different International Organizations.
SA18 is a military exercise focusing on African partner capability and interoperability in support of a United Nations/African Union Peace Keeping Operations (PKO).
Military will have a chance to assess their capabilities of addressing PKO mandates as means to enhancing positive bilateral and regional relationships in with coalition partners.
U.S. Army Africa (USARAF) and East African Military Forces foster their partnerships during such exercises and is improve capability to respond to regional security threats posed by Violent Extremist Organizations (VEOs), and to more effectively counter the associated ideology.
United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) work proportion will also be related to the participants.
Contingents from Botswana, Gabon, Germany, Malawi, Morocco, Netherlands, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, United States and Zambia as well as the international organizations; the United Nations (UN) and International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) are expected in Rwanda to take part in the training.
