President Paul Kagame has noted to the personnel engaged in the justice systems in Rwanda that judiciary is essential as the country needs their role to continue the fast development process which is being experienced.
“In this continuous fight to develop and transform this nation, your role as the judiciary is essential. We are ready to support your work so that our country continues fast in the development we need,” he said today at the inauguration of the 2017-2018 judicial year at the parliament in Kacyiru, Kigali city.

He urged the lawyers that were sworn in to exemplary exercise the uniqueness of the Rwandan judicial system in their daily executions.
“Our justice system must be defined by fairness and equality for all. Justice is not just a symbolic ceremony or procedure. It is about efficient process and delivering a fair outcome. Rwandans deserve a fair justice system that they can trust.”
The swearing-in also new ministers and members of parliament swearing to serve in the third seven year term that ends in 2024.

President Kagame added that the sworn in leaders should remember that the country needs them now to engage in the continuous fight to social-economically develop.
He reminded that lawyers that they have the mandate to protect the Rwandan laws and ensure good co-existence of Rwandans.
Fighting corruption in the justice system, he noted, should begin by holding leaders accountable, not just citizens.
The staff involved in the justice system was urged to end all delays of legal cases by installing ICT systems to address court needs everywhere in the country.
