Amavubi stars pair of Sugira Ernest and Mugiraneza Jean Baptista grab goals, Haruna Niyonzima, Nirisarike Salomon, Iranzi Jean Claude and Omborenga Fitina impressive in DR Congo, Tanzania, Belgium and Slovakia leagues respectively over the weekend.
Rwandan internationals Ernest Sugira and Jean Baptista Mugiraneza were on target for their clubs AS Vita of DR Congo and Azam Fc of Tanzania in their respective leagues played over the weekend.
In DR Congolese league, Lina Foot, Sugira scored the lone goal of the game as AS Vita against AS Dragons at Stade des Martyrs on Sunday to maintain a clean sheet for the Congolese sides in two matches played.
This was Sugira’s second goal of the season following a 3-0 win for AS Vita against MK Etancheite were he scored the second goal in a match played at Stade des Martyrs on September 28, 2016.
AS Vita now leads the 9-club West Zone league with six points. AS Vita’s next encounter is against Rojolu on October 5 at Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa.
In Tanzania, Amavubi midfielder Mugiraneza scored the second goal in Azam Fc’s 2-all draw against Ruvu Shooting on Sunday in a Tanzania Vodacom League match played at the Azam Sports complex in Chamazi.
Fullyuzulu Maganga scored first for the visitors in the 9th minute of the match before Rwandese Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza equalized after receiving a through pass from Khamis Mcha who scored the second in the 70th minute.
Former Azam player Shaban Kisiga scored a late goal to gift the visitors with a precious draw. Azam Fc are ranked sixth with 11 points in seven matches played this season. They face Mwandui in their next encounter on October 8, 2016.
