Rwanda National Police has been handed by RECSA over 150 arms steel boxes that will contribute to effective stokepiles security, storage and secure management of small arms and ammunitions.
The boxes handed over by Regional Center on Small Arms (RECSA) Executive Secretary Théoneste Mutsindashyaka handed the equipment to the RNP Deputy Inspector General Juvenal Marizamunda at ceremony held in Kigali.
The British Peace Support Team through RECSA modified armory unit to Police Training School in an event attended by DIGP Marizamunda.
The storage facility will help in the safe storage of small arms and arms management training.
The 48 racks can accommodate 1,994 guns which will bolsters safe and proper storage of arms.
RDF Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Jack Musemakweli and Mr. Habyara Costa of the Ministry for Justice attended the ceremony that commenced with the week-long theory and practical training of practitioners in weapons and ammunition management.
The training included participants from the Ministry of Defense and Rwanda Correctional Services that were shall trained by regional instructors.
