CAF President Ahmad has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, on a three-day official visit. He touched down on Saturday (10 March 2018) evening from Morocco, in the company of Communication Advisor Hedi Hamel.
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, President Ahmad was received by FERWAFA President Nzamwita Vincent who was in company of Musabyimana Celestin, member of the Organising Committee of the Africa Cup of Nations and former CAF Executive Committee member, Gregoire Ndjaka, the Executive Director of African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) and Arthur Asiimwe, the Director General of Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA).
On his first visit to Rwanda since assuming the reins of the continent’s football governing body last year, the CAF boss will visit Kigali Memorial Centre on Sunday morning to pay his tribute to victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Later in the afternoon, he will watch the Azam Rwanda Premier League match between Rayon Sports Fc and Marines Fc, a match day 15 fixture which will be staged at Stade de Kigali.
On Monday, President Ahmad will be a guest speaker at the Forum program organized by the African Union of Broadcasting which will be held in Kigali Convention Center.
This will be the first time that the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will be attending a meeting organised by African Union of Broadcasting.
On its plenary session of the AUB General Assembly due on Monday, Mr. Ahmad will address the sports rights and relations between CAF and AUB. Thereafter, he will address the media.
He will thereafter visit the headquarters of Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) where he is scheduled to have a meeting with FERWAFA President Nzamwita before departing Kigali in the evening.
