Kenya’s Attorney General Prof.Githu Muigai has resigned over unknown reasons, after six years of service in the country’s justice leadership.
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta today confirmed the resignation of the attorney general and said he has nominated Judge Paul Kihara Kariuki to replace him.
” I thank him for his service for the last six and a half years. I have nominated as his replacement Judge Paul Kihara Kariuki,” he said today.

The Kenyan leader also nominated Kennedy Ogeto the Solicitor General, Njee Muturi the Deputy Chief of Staff and Abdikadir Mohammed the Ambassador to South Korea.
Patrick Gichohi, Olive Mugenda and Felix Kosgey are also expected to be approved by the National Assembly for to be members of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
The resignation of the attorney general follows post-election conflicts between National Super Alliance or Nasa opposition leader and self-imposed Kenyan president Raila Odinga and the Jubilee incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta.
