The Rwanda Football Federation has emulated other institutions and contributed Rwf34.2million to the Agaciro Development Fund which intends to use billions of francs in various developments in the country.
The fund is now worth more than Rwf 110 billion contributed by only local firms to establish self-sustaining dependence among the Rwandan populations which will reap from its differing investments.
Vincent De Gaule Nzamwita Ferwafa president says that money was pooled by the association of referees and women to make their contribution to the fund.
He notes that every year they assess what their respective associations have achieved and from the achievements make another contribution to the fund.
Jack Kayonga, the fund’s executive officer, lauded the federation’s generous contribution and promised to effectively manage and use the pool of financial resources.
He urged other Rwandans to emulate Ferwafa and make a pledge to the fund that wants to build a better country.
“Rwandans should evolve the fund into their own entity which will help the government to achieve different developmental work,” Kayonga said.
The fund started with Rwf17b in 2012 when it was officially inaugurated by President Paul Kagame and is looking to owning Rwf200b in the near years if Rwandans continue to contribute.
