The event dubbed “My talent show” is take place this weekend on Saturday gathering all street children from around Kigali at the Kagugu grounds from 1 to 6 pm.
Their parents and other guests are expected at show to see for themselves the best talents the street children have.
Root Foundation coordinator Paul Klahre says that they intend to to inform readers and society about the good work that is done with street children in Kigali.
“It is important for the street children to express themselves and show all the others what they have learnt at root foundation,” he says.
There will be a music moment in which Rwandan musician Rafiki will be entertaining the children with some of his songs.
Root Foundation was established in 2012 by a group of local young people in response to the growing number of street children visible in their local sectors Kinyinya and Kigali.
The foundation gives children from vulnerable backgrounds and those at risk of living on the streets a safe space to play, learn and develop a brighter future with a good education in healthy social surroundings.
